Waived Pet Adoption Fees at 'Smooches with Pooches' on February 8
January 29, 2025
Looking for that special someone? Find your valentine at Tallahassee Animal Services' Smooches with Pooches adoption event on Saturday, Feb. 8. The shelter has dozens of dogs and several cats that are far more lovely than roses or chocolates - and their adoption fees will be waived!
The Animal Service Center will be open for walk-ins from 12-5 p.m., so you're guaranteed to find puppy love at the event. Adoptable pets can also be viewed on the online kennel, which is updated hourly with new arrivals. When you adopt from the shelter, all dogs come with a new collar and leash, personalized identification tag, bag of Hill's Science pet food, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter and medical care record.
In addition to kissable dogs and cute photo opportunities, Tally Sips + Sweets and Girl Scouts will be set up with your favorite treats for purchase! As a special treat, all eligible pets will receive six months of free heartworm preventative, and adopters will be entered into a raffle for a gift basket filled with goodies for their new pet, generously provided by the Animal Shelter Foundation.
"You can really feel the love in the air during Smooches with Pooches," said Assistant Animal Services Manager Grayson Walters. "We spend time getting to know each pet while they are in our care, so it's heartwarming to see wagging tails when they leave the shelter with their new families."
Space is currently limited at the Animal Service Center due to major 'pup-grades' to improve the quality of life for pets, boost operational efficiency and enhance the adoption experience - making it more important than ever to find homes for pets. Renovations will bring much-needed improvements, including a new Dog Adoption Wing, Veterinary Suite, Sunshine Yard and more.
Love is waiting for you at the Animal Service Center, located at 1125 Easterwood Drive. For more details about Tallahassee Animal Services and to view adoptable pets, visit Talgov.com/Animals.
