Deadline Extended to Apply for City’s 2023 Neighborhood Awards

Good news! There is still time to brag about the great things going on to spark neighborhood engagement where you live. The City of Tallahassee's 2023 Neighborhood Awards application period has been extended. Do you know a City resident adding to the beauty of their subdivision or cul-de-sac by planting additional flowers or keeping common areas litter-free? Does your HOA organize activities for neighbors or produce a community newsletter? Submit your application/nomination before the new deadline - Friday, June 30.

Neighborhoods located within the City limits are encouraged to apply online at Talgov.com/NeighborhoodAwards and highlight efforts undertaken in 2022 to bring about positive change.

For more than 40 years, the City has been recognizing residents and neighborhoods that have gone above and beyond to further enhance and enrich their communities. The 2023 Neighborhood Awards program includes recognition in the following categories:

Neighbor of the Year Award - One winner will be chosen from each of two categories:

• Neighborhood Advocacy
• Neighborliness

Neighborhood of the Year Award - The award is given in the following categories:

• Small Neighborhood of the Year (fewer than 200 homes)
• Large Neighborhood of the Year (more than 200 homes)

Winners of the Neighborhood of the Year Award will receive an award sign to display in their respective neighborhoods. A cash prize in the amount of $500 will be provided to the winners to fund a neighborhood program/project.

Best Neighborhood Program Award - The award is given in the following categories:

• Physical Neighborhood Improvement
• Social Neighborhood Improvement
• Neighborhood Communication
