Affordable Housing Resource Guide - Developed by the Florida Housing Coalition as a quick but comprehensive and current reference source for affordable housing providers, including local governments and nonprofit organizations. This guide is particularly geared toward nonprofit organizations that currently provide affordable housing or are considering becoming affordable housing developers and/or owners.
Big Bend 2-1-1 - Just as you would call 9-1-1 for emergencies, you can call 2-1-1 for human service information and assistance. Staff are available 24 hours a day to listen and provide emotional support, crisis counseling, suicide prevention, and information & referrals. You do not have to be in crisis to call, there is no eligibility criteria, and our services are free. They help you navigate through the maze of community services in a nonjudgmental manner.

Capital Area Community Action Agency - CACAA's mission is to provide a comprehensive, seamless system of services and resources to reduce the detrimental effects of poverty, empower low-income citizens with skills and motivation to become self-sufficient, and improve the overall quality of their lives, and our community. CACAA has resources to assist with utility bills, and the Weatherization Assistance Program to assist in weatherizing your home to reduce your energy costs.
Capital City Youth Services (CCYS) - CCYS provides emergency shelter for youth (ages 10-17) in crisis, residential home for children at risk of trafficking, individual, street outreach and family counseling.
Connecting Everyone to Second Chances (CESC) - CESC operates the Kearney Center, an emergency shelter for adults. CESC provides case management, day programming and other supportive services.
Disaster Assistance (FEMA) - The Disaster Assistance Improvement Program’s (DAIP) mission is to provide disaster survivors with information, support, services, and a means to access and apply for disaster assistance through joint data-sharing efforts between federal, tribal, state, local, and private sector partners. ECHO Outreach Ministries - ECHO provides emergency resources and support services to reduce instability. Services include case management and assistance with housing expenses, food and supplies.
Family Promise of the Big Bend - Family Promise is dedicated to providing the vital services necessary to prevent and end people's experience of homelessness including Emergency Shelter, Diversion Services and Permanent Supportive Housing and Homeless Prevention for Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Leon and Wakulla counties.
FloridaHousingSearch.org - Florida Housing Finance Corporation provides a web-based rental housing locator that allows the public to search for affordable rental housing 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, a toll-free, bilingual call center is available Monday – Friday for those without access to the Internet.
Florida Housing Coalition - commonly acknowledged as the foremost authority in Florida on housing that is affordable, homelessness, community development and related issues, as a clearinghouse for information, a provider of training and technical assistance, and an advocate at the state and national levels for people in need of housing that is affordable.
Florida Housing Finance Corporation - Created by the state Legislature 35 years ago to assist in providing a range of affordable housing opportunities for residents that help make Florida communities great places in which to live, work and do business. FHFC administers the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), the State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL) and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. They also administer the Hometown Heroes Down Payment Assistance Program for individual homebuyers.

My Safe Florida Home - The My Safe Florida Home Program has two primary components to be administered by the Florida Department of Financial Services: 1. Provide eligible Florida Homeowners, free of charge and with no obligation, a Hurricane Mitigation Inspection that identifies the current Hurricane Resistant Features of their homes and recommends Improvements to further strengthen their homes against hurricanes. 2. Provide eligible Florida Homeowners a Hurricane Mitigation Grant to help fund specific home Improvements recommended by the Program’s Initial Inspection, strengthening homes against hurricanes and offering potential discounts on home insurance premiums.

Salvation Army - The Tallahassee branch provides emergency financial assistance, disaster services, food panty and other social services.
Tallahassee Housing Authority - THA provides affordable housing for persons with low to moderate incomes through two programs: Housing Choice Voucher (HCV)/Section 8 and Public Housing. The Tallahassee Housing Authority also provides supportive services for our residents (clients) and coordinates additional services through the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. Funding for all programs is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
