City Service Changes for Election Day Holiday

The City of Tallahassee will close administrative offices in observance of the Election Day holiday on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Following are schedule changes for the week of Nov. 3-9 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits (blue week), StarMetro, the Animal Service Center and City-run community centers.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
During the holiday week, there will be no change to regularly scheduled service for residential and commercial customers. This includes garbage / recycling and yard waste / bulky pickup (blue week):
- Monday customers ► No change
- Tuesday customers ► No change
- Wednesday customers ► No change
- Thursday customers ► No change
- Friday customers ► No change
Customers are encouraged to set their collection bins behind the curb the night before their service day. Both containers should be returned to the home no later than the day after collection. StarMetro Routes
StarMetro, the City's mass transit system, will operate a regular schedule with night service on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The City of Tallahassee will offer fare free rides on StarMetro's regular, fixed route service and Dial-A-Ride service on Election Day.

Animal Services
The Animal Service Center will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Normal hours will resume on Wednesday, Nov. 6, with appointments available beginning at 10 a.m. and kennels open for walk-ins from 1-5 p.m. Customers needing more information, including photos of animals available for adoption and to report lost and found pets, may visit Talgov.com/Animals or contact the Animal Service Center at 850-891-2950.
City Animal Control will be available for emergency situations only on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and can be reached via the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at 850-606-5800.
City-run Community Centers
Community centers operated by the City of Tallahassee Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Centers will operate on normal hours the remainder of the week.
